Maagdenpalm is een geliefde tuinplant, maar men vergeet weleens dat hij uiterst toxisch is en beslist niet geschikt om er op eigen houtje thuis mee te experimenteren.
Dit geldt voor zowel voor de grote als de kleine maagdenpalm.
